Lace and neons

I have an unconventional family. We don't stay in the same house all the time. My dad is stationed in Tagaytay while my mom has her business in Paranaque. So, a few days before my birthday, my dad and my tita wanted to have lunch in celebration of my upcoming 21st brithday since my dad will not be here in Manila. Of course I wanted to look pretty and all but I found out that my clothes were still in the laundry and everyone was rushing me. So, plan B. This is what I found in my closet. I was so "kilig: when everything work together so well. :)

Sorry for this shot of my feet:(

White lace top bought from a bazaar, black top (worn as inner wear) and bandage skirt from Greenhills, neon necklace from Passion for Fashion, arm candies from Mauve and InAccess, Casio watch, Sandals from Payless.

Thanks, mom, for taking these shots! :)

Forever young

grade school, high school, and college graduation pictures (IMPROVING!!!)

Well, what do you know? It's my birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!! Today, I turn 21---meaning I can finally do the things I've been doing since I was 16 LEGALLY!! Chos. But kidding aside, I didn't know that I would feel like this. It's like yes, I am officially an adult but then I wanted to go back to my teens. I'm not sure if I'm the only person who feels like this when they turn 21. I can't also believe that I am existing for 21 years already! Even though I am only 21, I feel like I have gone through so many things already. Not that I'm bragging or anything but 2 years away from my family, 16 years spent in school, a couple of heartbreaks (mleh), over a thousand people met, and 7 years serving in church----that is A LOT. I am thankful for all those experiences because if one of those didn't happen, I wouldn't be the person I am now. 21 years full of laughter, tears, kagaguhan, and everything else, I couldn't ask for more. There are some of my dreams that I know will not come true anymore. But hey, I am starting a new chapter in my life today, who knows what will come to me, right? I have a whole new life to start with new dreams and aspirations. Age is just a number, I will be forever young at heart:)

How I wish  I have a birthday giveaway but I have no sponsors so far. Maybe next year, huh? KEEP ON DREAMING!!!:))

shameless plug: If you want to greet me (HAHAHAHA) just email me at

Same old, same old

12 days. If you think about it, it's not really long if you're visiting from abroad. Yesterday, I posted about our story, my barkada's story. I was all emotional and all (sorry for that haha). But today, I wan to show all of you that yes, time can make people change. Being apart can cause awkwardness when you meet again. But I am proud that me and my friends are the same even if so many years have passed. My other friend, Iris, told me that it's just sinking in us that Arkay arrived and yet today, she's in the States again. It makes me really wonder now how we maximized our time with her. In three nights, here are the things we did.

1. September 15-16, dinner at Mall of Asia
2. September 20, drinking sesh (heehee) for my early birthday celebration/2nd get-together
3. September 22, Arkay's despedida party

I did not arrange the photos by date on purpose because it looks wierd to me. But kidding aside, these photos for me bring a new chapter in our lives as friends. My friends and I may be in different locations but even if that's the case, we will always be the kids who met in 3rd grade, got into the awkward stage, and fought with each other because of simple things. We will always be the kids who love each other so much that even distance is not an issue. I am proud of what me and my friends have accomplished as of now. We may age, but I know that what we have between us will never go wither. :)

To infinity and beyond

I told you before that one of the hardest things for me to do is say goodbye. I will admit that get emotionally attached to a thing or a person too easily. But when it comes to a friendship that spans more than 10 years, that is another story. Coming from an all-girls institution, my elementary days were one of the best memories I have. This was when I met the people whom I now call my sisters. We were classmates all through out grade  school. But unfortunately for me, my parents transferred me to another school come high school. Boo.

Then and now. We're missing two people but what the hell:)
But I never lost communication with my barkada, my clique, my super close circle of friends. And a time came when one of us had to leave and go to the States. Of course it was sad for all of us, thinking that we we would not see her for so long. But we know it's for her sake and er family as well. And finally, after 7 LONG YEARS, Arkay's back! The bunso of our barkada is home:) So, as soon she arrived, we were messaging each other for schedules so we can have a dinner-date with her. But, as it is, we cannot be complete because of work and other stuff. But why dampen everybody's spirits, right? So, during Arkay's 12-day stay here, we got to spend 3 night of that with each other. We found ourselves reminiscing our days back in the day, the things that we did, the problems that we faced. Every moment felt so awesome.

But you know, she cannot stay here even if we wanted her to. As I publish this post, she is with her family in the States again. It's super sad that she can prolong her stay, but what is important is the fact that she went home--to her family here, and to us, her friends. It's not a sad parting. We've endured 7 years, we can go through more. With that, I dedicated this post to you, Arkay. Thank you for coming home:) You can always count on us for everything. And to my barkada, BERKS (yes). No other people can replace you in my heart. Here's to 12 years (and counting) of friendship, laughter, tough times, and overwhelming love. TO INFINITY AND BEYOND. <3

Neon notes

I know, I know. I haven't been posting these past few days but I will try to make it up to you, my readers. Well, Last week, my mom wanted to go shopping. Not all out but just go around and find interesting stuff. It's been a long time since me and my mom went out with just the two of us. With her business preventing her from going out that much, that day was a blessing in disguise. Ever since I was young, my mom taught me that you don't need to have high-end clothes or accessories to bring your outfit to life. Well, in some instances, you need them. So, what better place to go to than Greenhills Shopping Center! Woohoo. At the end of the day, I was able to shop for cosmetics and accessories. She, on the other hand bought things from head to toe (taray diba). This is what I wore.

Black top from Juana, studded bag from Candie's, denim shorts from Greenhills, neon necklace from Passion for Fashion, braided arm candies from Quirkypedia and Greenhills, sandals from Dexter for Payless.

Raining watercolors

It's raining and Manila AGAIN. Having just two seasons (hot and cold), sometimes it's hard buying clothes because you have to think of the usability of them. And when you are on a tight budget, you have to have clothes that would be okay to wear when it's hot or even when it's raining. Personally, I don't love rainy season because it hinders me from going outside, walk on the streets. But, I also hate it when the climate rises to extreme hotness. Well, for this rainy day, I didn't want to dampen everything. So I opted to wear this colorful dress, again. It's super short and since I was going to church that day, I chose to wear tights underneath it to hide my skin. And since I know that the roads will be wet, I did not wear open shoes. Come night time, which I will share with my super close friends at CubaoX, I thought of losing the tights. two looks in one crazy, rainy day.

Stars and Stripes

Yes, I know. I have been gone for three consecutive days. The reason behind that was people really close to me came back home after so many years abroad. This post is an ode to that place where hope and dreams come true--THEY SAY. Me and my friend go waaaaaaaaay back (emphasis on the way back). Knowing each other since we were kids and then parting all of a sudden is not easy at all. Our barkada had to wait 7 long years just to see her in the flesh again. Well, now that she's here (only for a week), we wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. So in one of the next posts, don't be confused if I post one of our escapades. That's it for now. Please keep on reading! :)
