Widescreen

Finally, the day that the pilgrims have been waiting for has arrived. It is one of the most joyous events in our WYD experience but it also is a bit heartbreaking. This day, or this mass, was the concluding activity of the whole celebration. As you can see, there were no cars around, just people walking. Yes, you read that right. All of us pilgrims walked many miles just to reach this place. We were happy because our designated area was near the stage where the Pope will be seated. But to our dismay, when we got there, there were so many people and the stadium was already cramped! BUT, we found a place just outside of it, comfortable and big enough for the 20+ people in our group. It's sad because we only got to see the Pope through a widescreen set up in front of us. But hey, being in Madrid physically was more than what we could ask for. The journey that we had was so fulfilling and so unforgettable. And did I mention that we were super lucky to have been staying beside a Philippine TV network crew covering the event? If you're guessing that we were featured on national TV here in the Philippines, you guessed right! So much for our 15 seconds of fame!
